To maintain the durability of Biosystem’s pipettes proper “Care and Maintenance” is required.
MAINTENANCE
SHORT-TERM MAINTENANCE
- Hold the micropipette horizontally.
- If you want to increase the volume move the plunger clockwise with your thumb, and to decrease the volume move it anti- clockwise.
Note: The calibration has to be checked after cleaning the pipette.

LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE
If the micropipette is used daily, it is recommended to check the calibration every three months.
AUTOCLAVING
- Biosystem (Color) model pipettes are partially autoclaved (i.e. only the “Tip Cone Module”) at 121°C (248°F) for 20 minutes.
- After autoclaving, the autoclaved part must be cooled down and left to dry overnight before use.
Note : The calibration has to be checked after every autoclaving.
Decontamination Procedure

- 1. Remove the tip ejector by holding down the ejector and inserting the tool supplied to relese the locking mechanism carefully, release the “tip ejector” and “shaft”.

- 2. Slowly turn anti-clockwise “tip cone”.

- 3. Remove the tip ejector by holding down the ejector and inserting the tool supplied to relese the locking mechanism carefully, release the “tip ejector” and “shaft”.

- 4. Placethe”tipcone”,”tipejector”,”shaft”,”pistone”,”o-ring” and “spring” intothe beaker containing 70% ethyle alchole
and keave for atleast 30mints. - 5. After performing the above procedure remove the components from the beaker and rinse them with distilled water, then dry preferably with warm air,for atleast an hour.
- 6. Re-grease the piston as described in tje instruction manu.
Note: Every 6 month when you performing Decontimination procedure kindly check ‘ 0 ‘ -ring and if possible kinly replaced if  necessary. The calibration has to be checked after cleaning the pipette.
